Richard performs regularly on the cimbalom (Hungary), hackbrett (Germany and
Austria), santur (Iran) and the hammered dulcimer (USA). He studied
hackbrett-cimbalom with Birgit Stolzenburg at the
Richard-Struass-Konservatorium in Munich, Germany. Richard has performed on
film scores - most recently, St. Ralph (Alliance Atlantis) - and other
recording sessions for the CBC and the European Broadcasting Union. Orchestra
and chamber music credits include engagements with: Boston Musica Viva, Esprit
Orchestra, New Music Concerts, Canadian Chamber Ensemble, Ergo Ensemble, Array
Music, Numus Concerts, Penderecki String Quartet and the Stratford Summer
Festival. He has worked with such notable conductors and composers like: Pierre
Boulez, George Crumb, Heinz Holliger and has also performed numerous works for
cimbalom by the Hungarian composer, Gyorgy Kurtag.
